Amy’s Journey
Amy’s journey to founding 1609 Marketing began in 2016. After leaving corporate marketing because she was frustrated by inefficiency and lack of accountability, Amy wanted to do work that mattered. Work where she could see the direct impact on business owners’ lives. Coupled with the desire for more time with her daughters, she decided to pursue her dream: building a marketing agency (of a former name…stay tuned…).
For Amy, following her dreams didn’t mean working less—it meant embracing the hustle fully: work, then dinner, then bedtime, and back to work again. And every long hour was worth it. She was not only building a business she loved but also showing her daughters what it means to face life’s challenges head-on and pursue your goals with determination.
Six years into growing that marketing agency, Amy faced a major life challenge: a divorce—and the kicker? She co-owned the business with her ex. This interview shares how Amy turned those challenges into opportunity. Despite the overwhelming obstacles, she stayed focused on her dream and in 2024 launched 1609 Marketing. Once again, she was proving something—not just to herself, but to her daughters and to everyone who doubted her resilience and determination.
