About 1609 Marketing
What is 1609 Marketing?
1609 Marketing is a full-service marketing agency specializing in digital marketing, branding, and creative services. We help businesses grow through comprehensive marketing solutions including SEO, content marketing, social media management, PPC advertising, brand development, logo design, creative campaigns, and website optimization. Our integrated approach combines digital expertise with traditional branding and creative services to build cohesive, results-driven marketing strategies.
Where does the name 1609 Marketing come from?
We get this question a lot! The name 1609 comes from the year a study about bees revealed something pretty cool—that bee colonies are actually run by a queen, not a king. As a woman-owned agency, that discovery really resonates with us.
But it’s more than just the queen bee connection. What we love about honeybees is how the whole hive works together. Every bee has a role, they adapt when they need to, and they’re all working toward the same goal. That’s exactly how our team operates.
We’re not a one-person show or a top-down hierarchy. Our best work happens when everyone—strategists, designers, writers, digital specialists—collaborates and brings their unique strengths to the table. Just like a hive, we’re stronger together.
Plus, bees are pollinators. They help things grow. And at the end of the day, that’s what we’re here to do for your business.
Also, “1609 Marketing” sounds way cooler than “Amy’s Marketing Company,” right?
What makes 1609 Marketing different from other agencies?
Honestly? We treat your business like it’s ours.
A lot of agencies will take your money, post some stuff, send you a report full of fancy metrics, and call it a day. That’s not us. If your numbers are down, we’re bothered by it. If a campaign isn’t working, we don’t just shrug and say “let’s see what happens next month”—we dig in, figure out what’s wrong, and fix it.
We’re also not order-takers. If you come to us with an idea that won’t actually solve your problem, we’ll tell you. We might suggest something totally different, or even tell you you’re not ready for what you’re asking for yet. Some agencies will just take your request and run with it because they want the sale. We’d rather push back and do what’s actually going to work, even if it means a harder conversation up front.
You’ll also never get the runaround from us. We’re available, we communicate like normal human beings (not corporate robots), and we’re accountable. Every month, we show you what’s working and what’s not. If we need to pivot or optimize, we’ll tell you why and what we’re doing about it.
And here’s the thing—we’ve been doing this for nearly 30 years, but we’re not going to talk over your head or use a bunch of jargon to sound smart. We want you to understand what we’re doing and why. The best work happens when we’re collaborating, not when we’re trying to impress you with buzzwords.
Bottom line: we care. Your success is tied to our reputation, and we take that seriously.
Where are you located?
1609 Marketing is based in St. Louis, MO., and we serve clients nationwide. We work with businesses locally and across the United States, offering both in-person and virtual consultations to accommodate our clients’ preferences.
Our office in St. Louis is located in Chesterfield (well, technically Ellisville)
What industries does 1609 Marketing serve?
We work with businesses across multiple industries including dental, home remodeling, construction services, healthcare, and wealth management. Our team has experience creating customized marketing strategies for both B2B and B2C companies of all sizes, from startups to established companies.
Here’s the thing though—we don’t believe you need a “specialized” agency that only works in your industry. Good marketing is good marketing. If we understand your business, care about your goals, and know how to reach your audience, we can help you succeed.
Actually, we think the whole “we only work with dentists” or “we’re experts in your niche” approach can backfire. Sure, those agencies know the industry playbook—but that’s exactly the problem. You end up with the same strategy, same messaging, and same campaigns as every other business in your space. Nothing stands out.
We’d rather be your marketing partner who takes the time to understand what makes your business different, asks good questions, and brings fresh thinking to the table. That’s how you break through the noise—not by copying what everyone else is doing.
So yeah, we’ve worked in these industries and know them well. But we’re not limiting ourselves (or you) to a cookie-cutter approach just because someone down the street uses the same playbook.
How long has 1609 Marketing been in business?
1609 Marketing officially launched in October 2024. Our founder, Amy Rose, owned an agency with a partner starting in 2016, but after parting ways with her business partner (and ex), she decided to start fresh and build something of her own.
So while Amy has nearly 30 years of marketing experience (she’s been in the industry since 1999) and nearly a decade as an agency owner, 1609 Marketing is her fresh start—built on decades of expertise but with a vision that’s 100% hers.

We handle it all under one roof, which means your branding actually matches your website, your social media supports your ad campaigns, and everything works together like it’s supposed to.
Plus, when something’s not working, you’re not playing the blame game between your web guy, your social media person, and your designer. It’s all on us—and we like it that way.
Does 1609 Marketing offer SEO Services?
Yes, SEO is one of our core services, and we approach it from multiple angles to make sure you’re showing up where your customers are actually looking.
We handle technical website SEO (the behind-the-scenes stuff that makes Google happy), local SEO so you show up in “near me” searches and Google Maps, and we optimize for both traditional Google search and AI search engines—because that’s where things are headed.
Here’s how we see it: SEO, backed by a strong website, is the cost of entry for having a business these days. You have to be discoverable in your local trade area. Period. If people can’t find you when they’re searching for what you offer, you’re leaving money on the table—and probably losing customers to competitors who did their homework.
Our SEO work includes keyword research, on-page optimization, content strategy, and making sure your Google Business Profile is fully optimized. We focus on sustainable strategies that actually work, not shortcuts that’ll get you penalized down the road.
Bottom line: if someone’s searching for what you offer, we want to make sure they find you—whether they’re typing into Google, asking ChatGPT, or looking for a local business on their phone.
Can you help my business update their logo?
Absolutely. We do logo updates and refreshes all the time, and honestly, it’s one of our favorite projects.
Here’s the thing about logos—they’re personal. You’ve probably had yours for years, maybe even decades. It represents everything you’ve built. But sometimes a logo that worked great 10 or 15 years ago just doesn’t hold up in today’s digital landscape. Maybe it’s too detailed to work at small sizes on mobile. Maybe the colors don’t pop on social media. Maybe it just feels… dated.
And that matters, because customers make snap judgments. If your logo looks outdated, they might assume your business is too—even if that’s not remotely true.
The good news? Updating your logo doesn’t always mean starting from scratch. A lot of times, it’s a refresh—cleaning up the design, modernizing the typography, adjusting colors, or simplifying elements so it works better across digital platforms. You keep the equity you’ve built while making sure you don’t look stale.
We’ll walk you through the options and help you figure out what makes sense. Sometimes it’s a tweak. Sometimes it’s a full rebrand. Either way, we make sure your logo represents where your business is today, not where it was 20 years ago.
Can you help with a complete rebrand?
Absolutely. We have done that for a few clients to help them refresh their image to be more modern and appealing. Our rebrand process includes competitive analysis, brand strategy development, messaging frameworks, visual identity design (logo, colors, typography), brand guidelines, website redesign, and marketing collateral updates. We manage the entire transition to ensure a smooth rollout.

Pricing and Packages
What does it cost to hire 1609?
Honest answer? It depends on what you need.
We have packages for things like local SEO, social media management, website management and hosting, and other ongoing services. But the truth is, some services need to be priced after we have a discussion about what your brand needs and what you are looking for.
Websites, for example, vary wildly in price depending on complexity, how many pages you need, integrations with other tools, and what functionality you’re looking for. A five-page site with a contact form is a totally different project than a 30-page site with e-commerce and custom features.
Same goes for branding and creative work. The scope depends on what options you want and what outputs you need. But here’s what we can tell you: we’re fair, we’re honest, and we want everyone to walk away happy.
If you’re serious about working with 1609, we need to have a real conversation before we can give you an accurate quote—because cookie-cutter pricing leads to cookie-cutter work, and that’s not what we do.
Do you have contracts?
Yes, we do—and it’s for everyone’s protection, not just ours.
A contract makes sure we’re all on the same page about what we’re delivering, what you’re paying, and what success looks like. It protects you from scope creep and protects us from misunderstandings down the road. Everyone knows what to expect.
That said, all of our contracts have a 30-day out clause. If you’re not happy, we don’t want you to feel stuck. And honestly, if we’re not happy, we should have an out too. We believe in building real partnerships, and those don’t work when someone feels trapped.
Here’s the thing: when you build a good relationship and do good work, partnerships continue naturally. Our client retention rate is 95%—and that’s not because people are locked in. It’s because they’re getting results and they actually like working with us.
But life happens. Businesses change. Priorities shift. We get it. The 30-day out clause means you’re choosing to stay with us every month, not because you have to, but because you want to.
Can I start small and scale up to more services?
Yes, and honestly, we love when clients do this.
Starting small lets us get to know each other. You see how we work, you see results, and you feel comfortable with us before making a bigger commitment. The relationship grows naturally from there. A lot of our clients choose this route.
Sometimes people just need a small way to start working with us—maybe it’s managing their social media or handling local SEO. Then as it works and their business grows, they add services. Before you know it, we’re handling their branding, website, ads, and strategy because the partnership just makes sense.
We’re not here to sell you everything on day one. We’d rather prove ourselves with something manageable and earn the right to do more. If the work speaks for itself, the rest tends to follow.
Results and ROI
What kind of results can I expect from working with 1609 Marketing?
Results depend on your goals and what services you’re using, but here’s what you can generally expect: measurable improvement in the metrics that actually matter to your business.
If your goal is to increase awareness, we’ll focus on things like reach, impressions, and engagement. If you’re trying to drive leads, we’re looking at conversions, phone calls, form fills, and ultimately, sales. If you need better visibility, we’re tracking keyword rankings, local search performance, and traffic.
We send every client a monthly report that shows the key metrics for the services they hired us for, along with insights into what we’ve done, what’s worked, what we need to watch, and what needs adjustments or optimizations. These reports are customized for each client because cookie-cutter reports don’t tell you what you actually need to know.
We’ve helped clients see things like weekly sales increases of $6K through organic social and Google Ads, local keyword rankings jump from 11.3 to 1.5 (an 87% improvement), 181% more engagement compared to when corporate was handling a franchisee’s account, 58% improvement in keyword share of voice, and a retail store seeing a 22% increase in website visits and 43% increase in phone calls through their Google Business Profile.
Bottom line: if it’s not working, we’re the first ones to tell you—and we fix it.
How does 1609 Marketing measure success?
We measure success based on what matters to you—not vanity metrics that look good but don’t move the needle.
Every client gets a customized monthly report that tracks the key performance indicators for their specific goals and the services they’re using. If you hired us for SEO, we’re showing you keyword rankings, organic traffic, and conversions. If it’s social media, we’re tracking engagement, reach, and how that’s translating to actual business outcomes. If it’s Google Ads, we’re looking at cost per lead, conversion rates, and return on ad spend.
But we don’t just throw numbers at you. Our reports include insights—what we did that month, what’s working, what we’re watching, and what needs to be adjusted or optimized. We’re not interested in making things look pretty if they’re not performing. We’d rather have an honest conversation about what needs to change.
Success, to us, means you’re getting real business results—more leads, more customers, more revenue—and you understand exactly why it’s happening.
Do you have an case studies or client testimonials?
Yes, we do! We’ve worked with businesses across multiple industries and have seen some great results:
- Helped a client increase weekly sales by $6K through a combination of organic social media and Google Ads
- Improved local keyword rankings by 87%—taking a client from an average rank of 11.3 to 1.5
- Took over a franchisee’s social media account from corporate and increased engagement by 181%
- Achieved a 58% improvement in keyword share of voice for a competitive industry
- Drove a 22% increase in website visits and 43% increase in phone calls to a retail store through their Google Business Profile optimizations and post management
Getting Started
How do I get started with 1609 Marketing?
If you know what you need, it all starts with a conversation to make sure we’re aligned and thinking through everything. We’re not just going to take your order and run with it—we want to make sure what you’re asking for actually solves the problem and sets you up for success.
From there, we’ll share a detailed proposal and statement of work so you know exactly what you’re getting, what it costs, and what the timeline looks like. You sign, and we’re off to making the good things happen.
Simple as that.
Do you offer free consultations?
Kind of, but not in a formal “free consultation” way.
If you’re interested in working with us, let’s chat. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for, what’s not working, and what you’re hoping to accomplish. We’ll also make sure we actually want to work together—because fit matters.
What we do offer for free is a website and local SEO analysis. We believe this is the foundation for all businesses these days. Your website is your digital storefront, and if it’s not in good shape, nothing else is going to work the way it should. You can’t drive ads to get leads or create amazing social videos to build engagement if your foundation is shaky.
So we’ll take a look under the hood, show you what’s working and what’s not, and give you a clear picture of where you stand—whether you work with us or not.
